Welcome Week Leaders (Woolies) are student-leaders who welcome new students each year!
Throughout Welcome Week, your Woolie will be here to:
- Help you learn about resources on campus
- Prepare for classes
- Learn how to get involved in a club or student organization
- Build relationships with other new students
Each new student is assigned to a Woolie Group hosted by one or two Woolies. There will also be a staff member from UMBC in each group to help answer questions and troubleshoot issues as new students adjust. Within this group, Woolies guide new students through the various events and opportunities provided during Welcome Week.
Woolies are here to support new students and their transition to college by sharing their personal student experiences, valuable resources, and important upcoming events and opportunities. If you are interested in speaking to a Woolie email: welcomeweek@umbc.edu
