Hello!
OCSS would like to introduce a collaborative outreach opportunity for the Adult Learner population. Beyond relief is a UMBC student led organization that aims to mobilize Baltimore youth to find sustainable solutions to solve domestic issues in the USA. Have you heard of gleaning? In the United States, 40 percent of food harvested is thrown away. 10 percent of this food is discarded by grocery stores because it is deemed “ugly”. Let us tackle the problem of food waste and hunger by feeding the homeless with food waste!
Free lunch will be provided for those in attendance and I encourage each of you to bring an open mind and insightful thoughts.
